Program Director

Organization Overview
Aging in Hartland (AiH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports healthy aging by providing programs that promote the health, safety, and well-being of older adults in Hartland, Vermont.

Position Overview
The Program Director implements the Board-directed strategies and oversees the day-to-day operations, programs, communications, and fundraising activities of Aging in Hartland.
The position reports to the Board Chair and works closely with the Executive committee, board members, volunteers, program leads, and community partners.

Responsibilities

Organizational Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Aging in Hartland communications with the public, partner organizations, and funders.
  • Respond to inquiries from community members and volunteers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain organized systems and documentation on Google Drive to support efficient operations.
  • Attend monthly Board meetings; prepare agendas in conjunction with the board chair and ensure follow-up on action items.
  • Implement and monitor administrative processes to ensure consistency and accountability across programs.

Program Coordination

  • Implement, oversee, and coordinate AiH programs and other volunteer-led services.
  • Work with all committees and program volunteers to ensure effective delivery of services and appropriate follow-up.
  • Support volunteer recruitment, orientation, and communication.
  • Track and report on program activities, participation, and outcomes.

Communications

  • Develop and distribute newsletters, listserv updates, and other outreach materials.
  • Maintain AiH’s website and social media accounts with current and accurate information.
  • Create or coordinate visual materials for events and promotions.
  • Monitor and analyze outreach efforts, providing regular updates to the Board.

Fundraising and Development

  • Lead coordination of fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Assist with grant writing, submissions, and reporting.
  • Maintain and update donor and volunteer databases to support effective fundraising and relationship management.
  • Track fundraising goal, partnering with the Treasurer and fundraising committee, and provide progress reports to the Board.

Board and Committee Support

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Board and its committees.
  • Assist in implementing Board decisions and strategic goals.
  • Prepare reports, meeting materials, and policy documentation.
  • Offer recommendations to improve organizational efficiency and community impact.
